"In my studio, best work happens when I let go of expectations and let my materials and circumstances play their part fully. The more present I am the more this meditative energy permeates the piece and becomes visible. It's magic."

JOINT FORCES

'Joint forces' series explores the relationship between expressive, spontaneous mark-making and clean, sharp edges of carefully planned geometric forms.

IN TOO DEEP

'In too deep' is a series inspired by my stay at the Spanish coast. It is also a further exploration of the relationship between the formal character of "imperfect geometry" and the spontaneity of forms made by pigment and water themselves.

LIGHTNESS OF BEING

This Series is about transparency rhythm and repetition. The careful and slow movement of the brush works like a mantra, which makes the process of making a form of meditation.  Each mark is made with an intention to be perfect and similar to the previous one. And because it is impossible each element is unique within the intended sameness.

VERY SHORT STORIES

During the first lockdown in 2020 came the idea to create this series of smaller pieces. This format allows me to be even more playful and reckless in the process.

ABOUT PATIENCE

Concentrated on the continuity of the line, its speed, and the emerging forms of negative space, the process becomes a meditation. 'About Patience' is an ongoing series of drawings exploring rhythm and repetition.

GROUNDWORK

'Groundwork' was the first attempt to introduce minimalism to my practice. Simple, repetitive marks are used as building blocks and spontaneously create this black and white architecture.

SLOWLY GROWN STORIES

Inspired by folk art, 'Slowly Grown Stories', like most of my recent works, explore rhythm and repetition. This time the lines grow slowly with the intention of creating something familiar but non-existent in nature.
